Block B "Very Good" Nails

Hello everyone!

Today's post is a little late. For some reason, the photos wouldn't upload like they usually do. It took an hour on my laptop before I gave up, and then I moved downstairs to the family computer and the photos uploaded instantly. Technology is strange sometimes.

For today's mani, I did nails inspired by Block B's "Very Good" MV.

Block B is a K-pop group with a more hip hop sound. They're my favorite K-pop group probably of all time. Yes, I fangirl hard for them lol (I promise I'm not that bad haha). I absolutely love the song and the music video for it, so I had to create these nails for it.

I was inspired by different parts in the MV for these designs.

The pinky represents the microphone lines in U-Kwon and P.O's section of the MV. I painted one coat of Wet n Wild's French White Creme as the base color. For the lines, I used a long striper brush and made random lines using Sinful Colors Black on Black.

The ring finger represents the red skull that Zico holds. I painted my nail one coat of Orly's Star Spangled. Once it dried a little, I put on top coat to help the gems stick together. Using tweezers, I stuck on the gems on the top coat.

The middle finger represents the clown masks that they use to disguise themselves as they're robbing the bank. I freehanded this design using Wet n Wild's I Red a Good Book, Sinful Colors Black on Black, an unnamed maroon polish, and Wet n Wild's French White Creme.

The pointer finger is the design on Zico's sunglasses. I painted one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black on my nail. With a dotting tool, I created dots around the nail with Wet n Wild's French White Creme.

For the thumb, I did the 730 floor design. I painted my nail one coat of Sinful Colors Black on Black. Next, I freehanded the numbers using a detail brush with Wet n Wild's French White Creme.

I think the hardest part of this design was the nail gems. I've never actually put this many gems on one nail before, but I really love how it turned out. The other thing was that the top coat that I used for this design (shown in the photos) dried really fast. I had to keep applying the top coat because it would dry before I could put any more on the nail.

What do you think of this design? Are you a K-pop fan?

Thanks for reading! I'll put the video down below if anyone would like to see the MV.

31DC2013 Day 8: Metallic Nails

Hello everyone!

I'm so tired today! After this post, I'm going to eat dinner and pass out! I had to babysit my brother while my mom went to church and I did a pictorial on Instagram for the chevron nails that I did yesterday. It may not seem like a lot, but it is for me haha.

Today was probably the hardest prompt for me so far. I barely have any metallic polishes. I really don't like metallic colors all that much on my nails. I don't know why, but I've never liked them. It took me forever to pick a design for today. I scraped at least five designs.

My metallic nails are pretty simple. I was going to add more to it, but decided against it. I also used an untried in my collection that I actually quite like. I was kind of surprised.

Colors Used:
Orly's Rose Radiance
Sinful Colors Black on Black

For this design, I did one coat of Orly's Rose Radiance. Next, I used the bottle brush from Sinful Colors Black on Black and make a line diagonal on the nail and filled it in. Finally, I topped it off with a top coat!

It's a very simple design and it's growing on me as well. I think this design looks pretty good with a metallic polish.

What do you think of this design? Tomorrow is rainbow nails!

Until next time!

31DC2013 Day 1: Red Nails

Hey everyone!

So, I decided that I'm going to attempt the 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. I first saw this from Chalkboard Nails, so I put the link to it here.

I've seen these challenges on Instagram a lot, but I was kind of intimidated by them for some strange reason. I've never really done any of these kinds of challenges, but I'm going to give it a shot. I don't know if I can do every day, but I will do my best.

Day 1 is red nails and I decided to do something really simple: french tips. I recently bought some french tip guides from Rite Aid that cost around $1.96 that I used for this mani. They worked wonderfully, so if anyone wants me to post about them let me know!

For this mani, I used Orly's Star Spangled (the label came off, but I do believe that this is Star Spangled) for the tips. Star Spangled is a red jelly with bright red micro-glitter. This is actually one of my untrieds that I bought a while ago. I was going to use SC's Energetic Red, but I've been using it too much.

It was really simple to do and it didn't take long at all. It took about 15 minutes to get done.

Tomorrow is orange nails, so hopefully I can get something in. I will complete this challenge!
