Ben de la Creme Inspired Nails

Hello everyone!

Today I have a nail art design inspired by one of my favorite shows: RuPaul's Drag Race! It's one of the few shows that I actually try to catch up on and I've been watching it ever since it came on. Plus, it's kind of good to post it now since there's going to be a double episodes tonight lol.

RuPaul's Drag Race is in it's sixth season, and I was inspired by one of the queen's outfits from the last episode. Her name is Ben de la Creme and she's one of my favorites this season. She's really talented and gorgeous and I loved this snow leopard print outfit she was wearing in this episode. It's probably one of my favorite runway looks ever.

Anyways, let's get to the nails!

For these nails, I used Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing for the pointer and pinky fingers. For the middle and ring, I used an unnamed silver glitter by Color Club.

Next, I created leopard print spots with a dotting tool using Sinful Colors Slate and Snow Me White. Using a detail brush, I outlined the spots with Sinful Colors Black on Black.

Finally, I finished off with a top coat.

These were very fun and simple to do. I couldn't think of anything to go on the blue, so they do look a little plain. I still love them though. The season will be over soon-ish, but maybe if I'm inspired, I'll do some more nail art inspired by some of the other queens!

31DC2013 Day 13: Animal Print

For Day 13, I did leopard print nails. I've only done leopard print nails using bright colors, but this time I decided to use more of the traditional colors used when doing leopard print nails.

Colors Used:

NYC's Mulberry Street

O.P.I's A-Piers to be Tan

Sinful Colors Black on Black

 For this design, I painted two coats of NYC's Mulberry Street onto my nails. After the polish is dry, I used a dotting tool and O.P.I's A-Piers to be Tan to create the "spots" on the nail. It doesn't have to be perfect when you do this step, because you're going to be outlining the spots with black polish. Next, with a detail brush, I used Sinful Colors Black on Black to outline the spots. Finally, I created mini circles and dots to fill in some of the empty space and finished off with a top coat.

Out of the leopard print mani's that I've done, I think this is my favorite one. The colors go great together. O.P.I's A-Piers to be Tan is a great color and has a great formula. I'll be doing a swatch of that after the 31 Day Challenge is over!

Gradient Leopard Print Nails

Double posting for the win! I added a little nail art to Sinful Colors Lavender. I haven't done leopard print in quite some time, but I think they came out okay. I just need a little more practice is all!

I did the middle and ring finger with the leopard print as the accent nails with Sinful Colors Lavender and Candy Coated. The leopard print is Wet n' Wild's French White Creme and Sinful Colors Black on Black. The rest of the fingers I topped with Hard Candy's Black Tie Optional.

I think I put too much polish with the black, but they don't look too bad. I love how with doing leopard print nails, you can kind of cover up your mistakes with it.
