Hey lovelies!
I made a new lighbox recently and I now have a black background. I'll be using it for a few posts just to see if I want to stick with it or not. Let me know what you all think!
Today I have a review of these cute patterned water decals from The Born Pretty Store. I really love their water decals because you can get them in a variety of patterns, so there's always something new to choose from. Let's take a look!
These water decals come in one sheet of five patterns (one is not shown in the photos). Each pattern has two sets, making a total of 10 decals for each of the patterns. The great thing about these decals is that you can basically cut anywhere in the pattern and it will give you more variety in your design.
For these nails, I started with two coats of Color Club's Over the Moon. Once the polish dried, I placed the water decal in lukewarm water for 10-20 seconds. Next, I dipped my finger into the water to make the decal stick and placed the decal on the nail. Finally, I dabbed the water off with a paper towel and filed the excess pattern to fit my nail shape.
A helpful tip for removing the excess is to dip an angled brush (mine is my cleanup brush) or a qtip into acetone or nail polish remover. I found it to be easier and quicker than filing it off. Filing it off also pulled the decal and it would start to fold.
Overall, I really loved this water decals. I think my favorite pattern out of them all is the moon and stars patterns. It looks cute on the nail. As far as durability, these lasted a few days for me just because I'm a little rough with my hands. I would recommend not putting a top coat on just because the first time that I wore these, the top coat made the decal streak. It's up to the person though.
You can get these patterned water decals and other nail art supplies at The Born Pretty Store. You can also use my coupon code SHBQ10 for an extra 10% off your entire purchase!
What do you think of these water decals? Thanks for reading!

Triangle Border Nails
Hello everyone!
I finally had time for some nail art! It feels like forever since I've done nail art, which is kind of a problem lol. Actually, I did some nail art earlier in the week, but it didn't work out as planned. I took the photos and then realized that there was a hair on the nail and I had already put top coat on it! I was so devastated. Don't you just hate that?
Enough of me rambling for now lol. For this nail design, I created a border design using triangles. There's so many things that you can do with triangles in designs. I've been sketching a lot of triangle nail art for some reason. Let's get to the design!
For this design, I painted two coats of Sinful Colors Rainstorm as the base color.
With a detail brush, I alternated between Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing and created triangles around the nail. Finally, I sealed my design with a top coat.
I love how this design came out. It's a bold design, but it's also simple. I really like how it made a nice burst shape in the middle. I was contemplating on putting something in the middle, but I decided against it. I think if I added anything else, it would be way too busy. I like the balance in this design.
What do you think of this design? What's your favorite nail art to do?

Sinful Colors - Midnight Blue
Hello everyone!
Today I'll be showing you Midnight Blue by Sinful Colors. I've actually had this polish for a few years now, and I remembered that I've actually worn it once. I actually didn't like it at first, but now I'm on the fence about this polish. I'll explain in a bit.
Midnight Blue is a dark metallic blue. This is two coats with a top coat. Sinful Colors retails for $1.99 in various stores.
As far as application and formula, I had no problems with this polish this time. I remember the last time I tried it out, I had a hard time getting the application right. I guess practice makes perfect.
If applied carefully, you could get away with one coat. I would recommend two just because I could still see my nail through the first coat.
The only thing bothering me is the color, which I believe is why I never bothered to pick up the polish again in the first place. Don't get me wrong, the color is absolutely gorgeous. But, I feel like this color is way too bold on me. It just doesn't seem right on my nails. I could definitely use this in nail art, but not by itself.
Overall, I still don't like this polish (well, color wise). It's too bold for me. If you're looking for a nice bold blue, this is definitely your polish. I wish I loved it, but sadly I don't.
What do you think of this polish? Do you like bold colors?

Cute Star Nails
Hello everyone! How are you all?
Today I have a cute nail art design for you today!
I originally had a different idea in mind for these nails, but I decided to save that one for a different time. I have a Spongebob poster in my room (don't laugh lol) and got the inspiration from that design, as far as how to do the stars, but I thought it would be best to just make a separate design from the poster.
Lately, certain ideas that I originally have to do nail art on bring out even more designs in my head. It's so complicated, but it's fun. Anyone else get that way?
For this design, I painted two coats of Sinful Colors Endless Blue as the base color. Using a detail brush, I freehanded the stars using Sally Hansen's Mellow Yellow. To make the stars easier for me, I first drew a star (the easy way where you go up,down,up,across, down) and then filled in the empty spaces with the polish and made the points a little longer. Finally, I finished it off with China Glaze's Fairy Dust.
I think these are so adorable and they're very simple to do. I hope the star part was easy to understand. It was the only way I could try to describe it for you all lol.
This design looks great with long and short nails. You can also do these with any colors that you want. I really like the last pose that I did in these photos. It really shows off the stars well and in a way kind of connect them all together, which kind of happened on accident haha.
What do you think of this design? Have you created star nails before?
Until next time!

31DC2013 Day 31: Honor Nails You Love
Hey all!
Today has been a lazy day for me. I caught up a little on one of the animes that I'm watching and then I fell asleep. It doesn't help that it's been raining for the past couple of days so the sleepiness just came to me lol.
I realized when I woke up that I hadn't posted my nails for today yet, I had them done and everything! Oh well, lazy me.
This is the last day of the challenge for me. Originally, I was so hesitant in doing the challenge. I remember posting the challenge list on Instagram and then just being like, "What did I get myself into for this month?". But I really liked doing the challenge and coming up with all these designs and learning new techniques. A lot of the nails that I did, some of them were my first attempts! I'm really proud of myself and these designs. I think I improved a lot from before the challenge. So for that, I'm really glad that I did it. I'll be honest, it'll be awhile until I do another one though lol.
Today's prompt is honor nails you love. One of my favorite nail bloggers is MrCandiipants. Her designs are really unique. She always has something different with each of her designs. I watched one of her Youtube videos on how to do these easy watercolor nails with polka dots and I wanted to recreate that look today.
Colors Used:
Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing
Color Club's Take Me to Your Chateau
Sinful Colors Why Not
Sinful Colors Cinderella
Sinful Colors Endless Blue
These nails were really simple to do! I first painted my nails one coat of Color Club's Take Me to Your Chateau as the base color. With a makeup sponge, I brushed on Sinful Colors Why Not, Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing, Sinful Colors Cinderella, Sinful Colors Endless Blue, and Color Club's Take Me to Your Chateau onto a makeup sponge.
I dabbed the sponge a couple times on a scrap piece of paper and then sponged it on my nails. Once that dried, I added polka dots with Take Me to Your Chateau using my detail brush.
I really like these nails. Originally she did the design with orange and yellows, but I think the blue looks really pretty too. I love how these are so simple to do.
Wow, so that's the end of the challenge! I hope you all enjoyed my designs for this challenge. Next week, I'll be going back to doing swatches and nail art. I have some really cute nail art ideas in mind and will be making a post to see what you all want to see if you have any requests or anything. In the meanwhile, I need to give my nails a break!
What do you think of this design? What would you all like to see on the blog in the near future?
Until next time!

31DC2013 Day 5: Blue Nails
Hello everyone!
This challenge is killing my nails! After I removed the green nails earlier today, my nails were so yellow! Tomorrow, I'll definitely try to get rid of those yellow stains before I do the next prompt. Anyone else having this problem?
So today is blue nails and I'm absolutely in love with these nails. If my wrists weren't so bad right now, I would do my left hand as well. This design looks so pretty and I think out of the five days, these are one of the best designs that I've done so far. I did a stained glass design for today. I love how they came out!
Colors Used:
Wet n Wild's French White Creme
Sinful Colors Endless Blue
Sinful Colors Sweet Nothing
Sinful Colors Why Not
Sinful Colors Black on Black
I first painted one coat of Wet n Wild's French White Creme for the base color. Then, I made random shapes with Sinful Colors Black on Black with a detail brush. Next, with the same brush, I filled in the different blue polishes into the shapes. If you want to paint in all the shapes you can, but leaving some of the white gives it more of a stained glass look. Finally, I finished my design with a top coat.
I wish I didn't have to take this off! I will most certainly be doing these again another time. Tomorrow is purple nails. I have an idea of what I'll be doing, but with me it could always change haha.
What do you think of this design? Purple nails for tomorrow!
Until next time!
